The Nanny Joynt is delighted to partner with this amazing family in their search for a nurturing, confident, and experienced Newborn Care Specialist to support their growing family in N Phoenix. Their third child is due May 11, 2026, and they are seeking consistent overnight coverage Monday through Friday to help establish strong routines, promote healthy sleep habits, and ensure a peaceful transition during the early newborn phase.
This loving and well-organized household includes two older siblings (ages 5 and 3) and one small, hypoallergenic dog. This family is warm, respectful, and values open communication, collaboration, and mutual trust. With a healthcare background themselves, the parents especially appreciate candidates who have experience in hospital or clinical settings and a strong foundation in newborn safety and wellness.
About the Family Baby
Due Date: May 11, 2026
Infant care will begin at approximately one week old
Parents are seeking
support with gentle sleep conditioning , bottle feeding, and creating a predictable nighttime rhythm
Siblings –
Two older children (ages 5 and 3) will be present in the home but not the focus of care during overnights
Pets –
One small, friendly, hypoallergenic dog – comfort with animals is required
Position Details Schedule:
Monday through Friday , 5 nights/week
Hours:
8:00pm – 6:00am (10 hours per night)
Term:
8-week contract starting May 2026
Care will take place in the family’s Phoenix home, with the nursery located in a converted office space furnished with a twin bed for NCS comfort
Family typically travels to Flagstaff in the summer, so this contract will end around that time.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate:
$40+/hour DOE
A respectful and welcoming environment where NCSs are treated like part of the family
Primary Responsibilities Overnight Newborn Care:
Feeding (bottle or pumping coordination), burping, and soothing baby overnight
Diaper changes and full nighttime hygiene support
Ensuring baby is kept upright after feeds as needed (especially for gas or digestion issues)
Monitoring sleep and maintaining detailed logs for the parents
Assisting with gentle sleep shaping, including:
Establishing consistent nighttime routines
Promoting independent sleep strategies aligned with family goals
Supporting transition from night waking to longer stretches as developmentally appropriate
Environment & Safety:
Maintaining a quiet, calm overnight environment
Ensuring safe sleep practices at all times (e.g., swaddling, SIDS prevention, sleep space checks)
Tidying nursery or care area at the end of each shift
Washing bottles, pump parts, and restocking supplies as needed
