Pipe Movers, Inc. Receptionist - Job Description Job Title: Receptionist/Cashier Report to: Controller As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our company. Our Receptionist's duties include offering administrative support across the organization. You will welcome guests and greet people who visit the business. You will also coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls.
The primary responsibilities of the Receptionist position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, and cash register operations.
Job Responsibilities
Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms, and brochures)
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing
Responsible for accurately collecting and recording all cash, check, and credit card payments and credit card refunds
Responsible for assisting with will call
Responsible for the distribution of all faxes and other incoming documents
Daily reconciliation of the cash box at the end of the day with assistance from the Accounts Receivable Department
Responsible for answering the phone.
Review for the review of all checks received horn customers and to ensure that all information is accurate before accepted
Other tasks as assigned
Essential Functions
Ensure each customer receives outstanding service
Greet customers as they enter the store.
Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
Maintain orderly appearance of Cash Box and counter area, and surrounding sales and reception area.
Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the Branch Manager in regard to answering the phone and dealing with customers.
Issue receipts and/or change due to customers.
Organize and work independently on multiple assigned tasks/projects and complete
assignments
within specified deadlines.
Communicate effectively with customers and salesforce
Work well under pressure.
Accurately follow verbal and written directions from sales management.
Requirements
Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or similar role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Hands‑on experience with office equipment (e.g., fax machines and printers)
Professional attitude and appearance
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Excellent organizational skills
Multitasking and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Customer service attitude
Education High school degree: additional certification in Office management is a plus
Working Conditions Walking in office; hard, smooth surface
Ability to sit, stand, walk.
Ability to lift up to 5 pounds
