Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Lansing Grand River Assembly on a full-time basis.

The Role:

In this role, you will oversee a small to medium group of salaried maintenance Group Leaders. You will lead the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard GM maintenance systems. You will conduct appropriate checks and tests and communicate evaluation of results. You will also be responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, recommending solutions to problems, and meeting schedule and quality requirements.

Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements.

Implement divisional and corporate policies.

Implement safety and good housekeeping practices.

Frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group.

Effective use of personnel, material and equipment.

Participate in the selection of new employees.

Train, develop and evaluate employees.

Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project.

Lead technical guidance for complex and unusual plant operations or projects.

Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts within assigned area.

Obtain a deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

People leader experience.

5 years of experience in one of the following areas - maintenance, mechanical, or die making.

Ability to work overtime and off shift as needed.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

5+ years of experience in one of the following areas - maintenance, mechanical, or die making.

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or a Journeyman card in die making, machine repair, or millwright.
