Job Description The Student Financial Aid (SFA) Compliance and Quality Assurance Specialist within the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) is part of the Compliance and Athletic Aid team in SFA and performs administrative functions, policy research, quality audit assessment and monitoring, analytical communication and organizational support. This position reports to the Compliance and Athletic Aid, Director.

Duties include assisting with assessing and measuring key compliance standards within SFA by conducting regular quality assessment reviews (audits), assisting with analysis and reform of financial aid policies, procedures and overall activities relative to compliance with state, federal and institutional regulations. Researches and responds to internal and external compliance inquiries, assists with annual audits, records and retention, maintenance of the SFA policy and procedure manuals. Contributes to the development and facilitation of compliance related training for staff and external partners. Maintains current knowledge of state, federal and university regulations.

Serves as a cross‑trained team member on athletic aid administration including customer service, counseling, aid processing, reporting and maintenance of data in compliance software system. Maintains current knowledge of NCAA and Big 10 Conference rules and regulations and the intersection with Title IV federal requirements.

Participates in office‑wide projects and initiatives. Serves as back‑up to all areas of the office, completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required. Experience in Microsoft Office including Excel.

Desired: 1‑3 years experience in the administration of Title IV financial aid such as verification, awarding, disbursement, return to Title IV. Knowledge of student financial aid regulations and aid delivery. Experience in conducting quality reviews, PeopleSoft is preferred and working with federal student aid sites such as NSLDS, COD.

This position requires successful completion of a background and credit check.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.76/hour.
