Herd Operations Manager

Our client is a growing multi‑site dairy operation seeking a hands‑on leader to bridge herd management, feed execution, and operational coordination. This is a new role created due to expansion and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee herd health routines and support existing herdsman
Manage feed execution and bunk management
Monitor feeding accuracy + collaborate with nutrition/crop teams
Coordinate across herd, shop/maintenance, and forage teams
Ensure issues are followed through to completion (not just delegated)
Lead and support a predominantly Hispanic labor force
Work directly with ownership to drive performance and efficiency
Ideal Background
Experience in dairy herd management
Exposure to feed/bunk management (or strong willingness to learn)
Operational, problem‑solving, and leadership mindset
Strong communication + accountability skills
“All hands in” attitude vs. siloed thinking
Nutrition knowledge is a plus but not required.
Schedule & Location
On‑site role, 5–6 days/week (rotation)
Increased involvement during planting/harvest seasons
Local preferred; relocation support available for the right person
