Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Manage transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and/or information technology projects involving cross‑functional teams across multiple disciplines and operating areas, including contract resources. Responsibilities include managing scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance of multiple projects and programs. Lead the project teams through business case/capital approval processes, development and execution of project plans, and project closeout. Project budgets typically range from $250 K to $15 M. The role may also manage business initiatives with direct accountability for execution, leading a team to achieve objectives within given time frames and limited resources. Extended hours may be required for storm coverage or other emergencies.

Primary Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible and accountable for overall project performance for major transmission, substation, distribution, gas construction, technology programs, information technology, and organizational initiatives. (25%)

Ensure project costs, schedule, and scope are managed, including development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits. (20%)

Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements. (15%)

Primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations. (10%)

Maintain a good working relationship between the project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations. (10%)

Coach and lead team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks. (10%)

Identify and obtain project team resources. (5%)

Ensure project team members understand their respective responsibilities. (5%)

Job Scope JOB SCOPE

The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets, team performance, and strategic plans to implement projects for various organizations. Responsibilities also include managing scope, budget, schedule within approved parameters and providing structured, detailed reports to management. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, project business case completion, budget approvals, scheduling, requirements engineering, design and engineering tasks, vegetation management reviews, reporting, financial analysis, major equipment procurement, environmental analysis, real estate and external stakeholder relationships, project quality assurance, and change management. The role interacts routinely with senior management, major customers, and government/regulatory officials.

Minimum Qualifications

Construction project management: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 4‑7 years of relevant project management experience, OR High School Diploma and 6‑9 years of relevant experience. Non‑construction: Bachelor's in business, engineering, or related field and 4‑7 years of relevant experience, OR High School Diploma and 6‑9 years of relevant experience.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achieve CAPM within two years of entry (PMP certification satisfies this requirement).

Demonstrated and documented success at managing projects.

Ability to work independently and as a team leader, handling conflicting priorities in a multitask environment.

Demonstrated strong independent judgment skills.

Strong interpersonal and time‑management skills.

Valid driver's license and access to an automobile.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in engineering (or advanced technical degree) or Business Administration.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineer License.

Experience or knowledge of the specific functional area or discipline (e.g., utility design/planning/construction or information technology).

Annual salary: $100,800.00 – $138,600.00 per year.
