About the Role As the
Program Specialist for Nature
Programming, you design and lead nature
hikes ,
environmental education , and
outdoor exploration
for campers of
all ages . You help campers
connect
with the forests, wildlife, and
natural world -and support general program needs when nature sessions aren’t running.
You will spend your summer exploring trails, leading eco-lessons, teaching campers about wildlife and plants, helping run camp-wide events, and
making the natural world feel alive and fun for everyone.

Program Specialist - Nature - 2026 Job Description
What You Will Do
Lead nature hikes, wildlife and plant ID, eco-exploration, and environmental lessons.
Plan and prepare activity materials; organize supplies and track inventory.
Teach Leave No Trace principles and encourage campers to respect nature.
Support campers during activities - answer questions, guide group dynamics, and ensure safety.
Your work helps campers discover the outdoors, grow in confidence, and
build memories that last long after summer ends.
Who We Are Looking For
18 or older.
2+ years experience in environmental education, ecology or outdoor instruction.
Comfortable teaching outdoors, organizing groups, and working in rustic settings.
Good communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Creative, adaptable, and able to lead groups of various ages.
Someone dependable who shows up on time and works hard.
We treat staff like adults . We expect people to show up fully, work hard, communicate clearly, and support one another.
