Secondary Teacher-HS English 25-26 School Year Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must have knowledge of assigned curriculum
Knowledge of instructional methods
Must have lesson planning skills
Must have lesson presentation skills
Must have conflict resolution skills
Must have classroom management skills
Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Technology skills preferred
Work Conditions:
Must be able to monitor and observe student behavior
Must be able to attend after school and night time activities occasionally
Must be able to maintain emotional control in all situations
Must be able to do medium work effort exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Be able to bend and stoop and reach fully above head
Possess acute and/or corrected visual and hearing capabilities
Possess good mental health in order to perform all job requirements
Be average or better in energy, health and vitality
Possess a high level of mental capability
Regular attendance is an essential function
