What your job will be like: The Physics Division (Hall A/C) at Jefferson Lab invites applicants to fill a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position. In this role, you will be part of a large team of experienced scientists focusing on precision experimental physics measurements in halls A and C. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of TJNAF. The successful candidates will work on simulation studies and photon detector development for Compton polarimetry, and the parity‑violating electron scattering (PVES) experiments in halls A and C.

In this role you will:

Simulate, construct, and commission photon detector for Compton polarimeter.

Collaborate with the staff and users to commission, collect data, and perform analysis for the MOLLER experiment.

Develop, propose, and help carry‑out medium energy nuclear physics experiments.

Work on the publication and presentation of results in top tier journals and at major scientific conferences.

Qualifications we require: Education

Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics

Education above the minimum may not be substituted for experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Up‑to‑date knowledge in related scientific data collection, data management, and data analysis concepts

Ability to communicate clearly in writing (e.g., email, memos, explanations, drawings) and explain work to his/her supervisor and scientists

Ability to interacts well with work group and team environment

Self‑motivated and can represent work associated with specific projects at professional meetings
