Position 2nd Shift Structural Welder at Daifuku

Position Summary Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

Responsibilities

Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials

Planning work by interpreting blueprints

Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused

Selecting and setting up welding equipment

Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications

Complying with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures

Ensuring sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding

Minimum 3-5 years experience in welding

AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

Good mechanical aptitude

Ability to read blueprints

Knowledge of hand tools and power tools

Good communication skills

Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques

Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented

Team orientation

Crane operation experience preferred, but not required

Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing: remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking: moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Pushing: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Grasping: applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Visual: close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Job Conditions: subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Job Conditions: subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or chemicals.

Salary USD $21.00 – USD $24.00 per hour
