Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a Part-timeFloating Classroom Partner
to support Montessori classrooms for students ages 18 months through 14 years. The Floating Partner supports a classroom when a staff member is absent and assists in our after-school program.
ABOUT GREENSPRING MONTESSORI SCHOOL Greenspring Montessori School has been offering a Montessori education to students since 1962. Nestled on a 7-acre property that was originally a dairy farm, students ages 18 months through grade 8 thrive in our newly renovated buildings, state-of-the-art Montessori classrooms, and rich outdoor learning environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare the classroom environment
Go outdoors daily in all other weather conditions including rain, snow, and a wide range of temperatures
Manage the “flow” of the classroom
Support children in their own resolution of conflicts and concerns
Be a role model for children in speech, tone, demeanor, and actions
Serve as a record keeper of the work children are engaged in and children’s social interactions
Help set up for nap and lunch
Supervise recess
Assist with cleaning
Assist with toileting (with toddlers)
Serve the needs of the children and community
COMPETENCIES
Have an understanding of (or interest in learning about) Montessori education
Have a great love for working with young children
Have a strong work ethic
Actively seek professional growth and development
Be a team player
Be solution-oriented
Be seeking a long-term position

POSITION DETAILS This is a 10-month, part-time position, Monday through Friday from 11:00am – 4:30pm. Summer opportunities are also available.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required:
Pass a background check
Have previous experience with children (1 year)
Preferred: Authorization to work in the United States is a pre-condition of employment at Greenspring Montessori School.
