Small accounting tax firm in Nassau County, Long Island is looking for an administrative assistant full-time to assist with general office administrative tasks. Will also sit reception and might handle some tax documentation.
Hours: 8-5pm (sometimes later and occasional weekend work during tax season)
Fully onsite
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to ensure smooth office operations in a professional accounting firm.
Handle reception duties, including managing phones, emails, and client communications.
Perform data entry tasks and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Assist with tax-related documentation and preparation during tax season.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and task prioritization.
Support senior administrative staff by relieving workload and managing routine tasks.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data security protocols.
Organize and maintain files, ensuring accessibility and accuracy of records.
Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings for the team.
Perform general office tasks, including supply management and equipment maintenance.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Adapt to extended working hours during peak seasons.
Requirements
Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or equivalent educational background.
Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an accounting or financial setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant office software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and data entry.
Familiarity with tax procedures and accounting practices is a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data security protocols.
