Position Summary
Under general supervision of assigned manager/supervisor, serve as a staff assistant in providing student services and information on college programs.
Typical Duties Familiarize students to available resources, services and programs; answer questions regarding assigned program requirements; present workshops; assist students with completing forms; interpret program regulations; serve as a resource person; coordinate outreach; support retention and completion efforts; record and coordinate student documentation; maintain confidential information; perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, answering phone, making appointments; assist with scheduling; order and inventory supplies; prepare reports; attend conferences; hire and train temporary employees; assist with budget processes.
Duties by Area
Athletics : Review academic performance of student athletes, make referrals, and follow up on eligibility.
Call Center : Intake inquiries, refer students, support call campaigns, guide application processes.
Career Center/Internships : Research labor market, refer students to employers, conduct follow‑ups, provide mock interviews and resume critique.
Student Life : Develop and supervise student organizations, coordinate social activities, assist with campus events, coordinate election process.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience related to the duties of the position.
Completion of an Associate’s Degree or 60 semester units.
Equity‑minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
Must have an accredited education; one year of experience equals 12 months at 40 hours per week.
