About the position:

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child Development Center. This position is regular, full time, working 35-40 hours per week. This position requires frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 40 lbs, constant standing, reaching, pushing, bending and walking. Works in hot and noisy kitchens. Exposed to extreme temperatures. Duties

The purpose of this position is to prepare and plan or coordinate the preparation of entire meals for the children attending the program. Using a full range of quantity cooking procedures from common or frequently used to new or difficult recipes, over a period of time prepares a variety of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and gravies. On a day-to-day basis, prepares four or more menu items for one meal which involves planning and coordinating steps to ensure that all items are ready for serving at the same time. Orders food, drink and various ingredients/supplies to meet USDA, Air Force Guidelines or center based needs. Implements and follows all Air Force Standardized menus and recipes. This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations; this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases Must be at least 18 years of age; hold a high school diploma; read, speak and write English
