Job Title: Data Engineer - Supply Chain Planning
Location: Eden Prairie, MN
Job Type: Permanent
As a Data Engineer specializing in Supply Chain Planning at Hormel Foods, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our supply chain operations. Your role will involve collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, clean, and transform data from various sources.
Work closely with supply chain analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Optimize and manage data storage solutions to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate data systems and enhance data accessibility.
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure seamless operations.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to improve data engineering practices.
Required Skills
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems.
Experience with data integration tools and ETL frameworks.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in supply chain or manufacturing industries.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with machine learning and data modeling techniques.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
