Cook III - Embassy Suites Denver Downtown
Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown and Convention Center is a modern Silver LEED‑certified hotel located within walking distance of downtown Denver’s attractions.
We are looking for a dedicated Cook III to prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over‑prepare.
Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.
Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up.
Note any out‑of‑stock items or possible shortages.
Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
Return unused food items to designed storage areas, covering/dating perishables.
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost problems; control food waste, loss and usage per SOP.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent experience.
Minimum one year food service or related work.
Knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices and procedures to perform non‑repetitive analytical work.
Physical Demands
Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 70 lbs (about 75% of the time).
Periodic climbing required.
Bending of the knees up to 5‑10 times a day.
Full mobility, travel 30‑50 feet regularly.
Continuous standing during preparation, service or expediting.
Must hear equipment timers and communicate with staff.
Must see that product is prepared appropriately.
Must follow verbal and written instructions.
Environment
Inside 100% of shift; temperatures inside up to 100°F, freezer -10°F.
