Role Overview This role within the Human Resources Division is a team of professionals dedicated to designing and delivering impactful training programs. The position assists those responsible for instructing, planning, developing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating department training classes and initiatives that support organizational excellence. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the quality and effectiveness of their work products. This is an opportunity to shape learning strategies in a cutting‑edge environment while driving workforce development forward.
Monitors training evaluation systems including statistical analysis of cost data, student demographics, curriculum content analysis, instructional techniques, and strategies and knowledge transfer.
Oversees the conversion of traditional Instructor Led Training (ILT) to VILT (Virtual Instructor Led) delivery, online learning, or blended distance learning approaches.
Conducts curriculum revisions and reviews.
Conducts reviews with special emphasis in the use of instructional technologies for both e-learning and Instructional delivery.
Designs and develops methods, including surveys, for assessing and evaluating training effectiveness and sets up evaluation measures.
Maintains liaison with department training coordinators, sponsoring steering or oversight committees and training support personnel.
Provides consultation to districts and divisions on training matters regarding evaluation, alternative training strategies, including related costs and e-learning delivery methods.
Instructs courses in management, staff development, automation, technical/engineering or other topics; follows approved lesson plans by either ILT or by means of VILT delivery.
Participates in writing or rewriting of courses to be delivered.
Oversees needs assessment to develop a master calendar.
Researches and reviews commercial materials for inclusion in the department's training curricula.
Reviews trend analysis and prepares operating plan consistent with trends.
Travels/drives to administer/perform training functions.
Serves as supervisor in their absence.
Performs other job related responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communications, Business or related disciplines. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications.
Experience: 5 years of experience in training, adult education or staff development activities (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications Extensive knowledge of:
