The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs.GCU maintains a partnership with Future for Kids located at 1425 W. Southern Avenue, Suite 10A, Tempe, AZ, 85282. Future for Kids provides mentor driven out-of-school programs and camps that focus on academics, athletics, and ethics to improve the lives of youth facing adversity. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of Future for Kids; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).*CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community.**As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).*Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.**Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:**Future for Kids supports elementary and middle school-aged youth who live in low-income communities and who may have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). As a Program Lead Flex, you will:* Assist staff with programming (i.e., games, behavior management, mentor support)* Take the lead in programming as needed.* Build a strong rapport with participating youths and mentors.* Assist with set-up and clean-up at each program.* Assist with tabling and recruitment as needed.* Other duties as assigned.Please note, this position has a weekly schedule which will require Program Leads to attend **Monday meetings from 11am – 1pm** as well as visit a different site location at least two of the four program days each week depending on your agreed-upon schedule. This schedule can be flexible and will not require visiting more than one site per day. Program Leads will be required to have a minimum availability of 10 hours per week to serve the mission of the organization.
