Job Summary Responsible for supporting all aspects of the retail areas, including coffee shops, catering, and physician lounges. Additional required support functions include cleaning the food preparation and customer seating areas, stocking work and storage areas, and maintaining inventory. Provides customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintains a clean and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

Ensures positive customer experiences by greeting all customers in a warm and professional manner, acting with a customer‑comes‑first attitude, connecting with the customer, and providing service recovery when needed.

Educates customers by presenting the coffee and food menu, answering questions regarding products and ingredients, and verbally calling back orders to customers.

Prepares all drink and food orders to company standards, consistently providing quality beverages and food products by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.

Follows established standards for stocking, restocking, rotating, and storing food and food‑related supplies (e.g., juices, yogurts, breads, and muffins). Adheres to First In First Out method (FIFO).

Follows departmental and organizational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all during each shift.

Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep retail space operating to standard and to set a positive example for co‑workers and customers.

Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations, including but not limited to adhering to hand hygiene protocols, temperature audits and documentation. Notifies Lead, Supervisor, or Manager if items/equipment are out of temperature.

Ensures infection control and sanitation by washing hands, using hand sanitizer, and wearing gloves as required. Additional infection control tasks include wiping tables and seats, picking up items that have fallen on the floor, and addressing minor spills.

Ensures that workstations are maintained clean and fully stocked (register stands, hot buffet station, hot and cold wells, salad bars and beverage stations, dining room and conference/meeting rooms). Notifies production team of shortages.

Keeps department equipment operating by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.

Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments, stocking supplies necessary for operations in designated storage space.

Participates in and attends department training and in‑services.

Assists with catering, including sets‑up and breakdown of conference/meeting rooms by arranging tables, chairs, table linens, china, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces.

Reports all customer complaints, potential hazards, employee accidents, and operational inconsistencies to the leader on duty.

Covers all positions while supporting co‑workers' breaks.

Qualifications

Active SafeStaff Certification required within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High School or Equivalent highly preferred.

Knowledge of food safety preferred.

Ability to communicate sufficiently well in English both verbally and in writing to request supplies and properly label food items.

Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with customers and co‑workers.

Basic knowledge in use of computers and printers, and/or ability to learn appropriate software application(s).

Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.

Able to follow simple instructions to accomplish repetitive tasks.

Able to use and maintain the food service equipment (e.g., microwave, blender, thermometer, refrigerator, and scale).

Able to build interpersonal relationships and work in a team‑oriented environment; able to collaborate effectively with other team members.

Able to interact with the public and coworkers in a positive, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.

Able to learn quickly and maintain knowledge of the establishment's products and procedures.

Able to learn and follow all beverage recipes to ensure quality, consistency, efficiency, and cost.

Able and available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.

Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and multi‑task (verifying and preparing multiple coffee, drink, and food orders).

Able to multitask, prioritize, and keep multiple tasks, requests, and/or events organized.
