Job Description
Perform skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in the installation, service, maintenance, repair, and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, and other low voltage cabling systems. Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), and move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials.
Position Details:
Contract position with possible extension or hire
Location: Mobile - Miami, FL (radius of travel up to 2 hours)
Standard work hours: Support HRS M-F 8-5 pm (after hours/weekends possible requires flexibility)
Dispatch work: Please ensure your candidate understands there is NO 40 hour guarantee each week. Some weeks may be less while others may be more, typically over a year period it usually equates to 40+.
Requires a Valid Driver's License and a dependable vehicle that can support a 6-foot ladder
MVR - Required
Work is 75% cabling (95% copper; 5% fiber) and 25% network (i.e. layer 1/physical layer)
Requirements:
2+ Years of relevant experience in a Field Technician role with responsibilities such as:
Installing, testing, terminating, & troubleshooting of low voltage cabling CAT 5/6, fiber
Rack and stack of network devices
MACs (moves, adds, changes)
Cable patching
Installing and troubleshooting Cisco Devices (Layer 1/Physical Layer)
Cisco Phone de-install; reinstall; port info; upload asset info
Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches, and routers
