Duties & Responsibilities The successful applicant will receive a contract with an approximate distribution of 70-80% teaching, 10% advising, and 10-20% service effort. Responsibilities for this position include:
Teaching undergraduate courses (on campus and online) in kinesiology including coaching, sports leadership, sports administration, foundational courses for physical education-teacher education majors, and/or other courses dependent on expertise and need.
Teaching graduate courses (on campus and online) in coaching, sports leadership, sports administration, and/or other courses dependent on expertise and need.
Advising and mentoring graduate students. Serving on master’s scholarly or independent research project committees and doctoral dissertation committees, participating in graduate admissions and participating in comprehensive exam processes.
Leading one or more degree programs in the Kinesiology program area
Assisting with developing strategic enrollment management plans, curriculum, and course schedules for Kinesiology program areas
Participating in service activities in the department, college, and university, and in the profession.

Qualifications
Skills in undergraduate and graduate level teaching.
Skills related to graduate level academic advising.
Strong organization skills and conscientiousness; ability to successfully navigate a workload comprised of teaching, graduate advising, program leadership, and service-related responsibilities.
Completed doctoral degree in Kinesiology or a related field (ABD considered if degree is conferred by August 15, 2026).
Successful completion of criminal history background check.
This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of four years of experience as an Assistant Professor or Special Appointment faculty in Kinesiology at an accredited institution.
Successful experience teaching undergraduate courses in face-to-face and online classroom environments
Successful experience teaching graduate courses in face-to-face and online classroom environments
Experience advising and mentoring graduate students.
Experience in coaching, physical education, sports leadership, and/or athletic administration.
Involvement and affiliation with professional associations relevant to the position.
Experience as an academic program director or coordinator (undergraduate or graduate level).
Experience with strategic enrollment management, curriculum, and course scheduling activities.
