CNC Citizen Lathe Machinist
Our client is seeking a CNC Citizen Lathe Machinist to support manufacturing operations in a fast‑paced production environment. This role is ideal for a hands‑on machinist who can independently program, set up, and operate Swiss‑style CNC lathes while contributing to workflow planning and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong technical fundamentals, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
This role is onsite in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Days, Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM–4:30PM
CNC Citizen Lathe Machinist Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC Citizen (Swiss‑style) lathes to produce precision components.
Independently manage machine setups, tooling, and job changeovers to ensure efficient production.
Prioritize and schedule machining jobs to meet production timelines.
Verify material availability and proactively communicate parts or material needs to production leadership.
Inspect tooling condition, perform tool changes, and grind tools as required for lathe operations.
Support job quoting activities by providing machining input for Swiss‑style work.
Monitor and maintain proper machine fluid levels to ensure optimal performance.
Train and support other team members on CNC lathe operation as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
CNC Citizen Lathe Machinist Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC lathes, preferably Swiss‑style/Citizen machines.
Demonstrated ability to perform independent setups and basic CNC programming adjustments.
Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply them in a machining environment.
Familiarity with tooling, materials, and precision machining processes.
Basic computer or programming skills are helpful but not required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with production teams.
Willingness to mentor or train others when needed.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
Compensation $29‑$31/hr. (DOE)
