Overview At Tesla Grand Rapids, we design, build and service custom dies to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. This 5:30PM-2:30AM shift (Monday‑Friday) offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge equipment in a collaborative, safety‑focused environment. Overtime will be offered depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
Operate 5‑axis CNC Mills in a low‑volume / high‑mix workflow
Read Line ups, process documents, perform setups and operations as described
Promote and adhere to Tesla’s safety standards, reporting any concerns to management and EHS team
Provide feedback to engineers, machinists and programmers on design and process improvement
Machine complex components to tight tolerances in various materials with tight deadlines
Use various inspection and measurement tools to validate your work
Tracking and documentation
Qualifications
5+ years of CNC mill operating experience
2+ years of 5 axis CNC operating experience on dies
Thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, documents and GD&T
Thorough knowledge in the use of measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, indicators, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to develop and present technical information
Experience with basic shop tools and Heidenhain CNC controls
2+ years of programming experience with Tebis or Work NC programming software
