Position Overview The
Housing Specialist
plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day housing operations of the Pando Program. This position focuses on
housing placement, eligibility vetting, data management, and compliance
to ensure individuals experiencing homelessness are efficiently and successfully connected to permanent supportive housing.
Working closely with the Housing Coordinator, Coordinated Entry System (CES), property management, and community partners, the Housing Specialist ensures accurate documentation, timely referrals, and compliance with HUD and Continuum of Care (CoC) requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about housing stability.
What You’ll Do Coordinate Housing Referrals & Intake
Serve as a primary point of contact with the Coordinated Entry System (CES) to identify eligible participants.
Facilitate referrals, screenings, and intake processes to ensure program eligibility criteria are met.
Support Housing Placement & Transitions
Collaborate with property management to support applications, move-ins, lease signings, inspections, and housing-related coordination.
Support successful transitions into and out of housing, including exits to permanent housing when applicable.
Manage Data & Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely participant records in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
Manage HUD and CoC documentation in accordance with compliance checklists and reporting standards.
Ensure confidentiality, data accuracy, and compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
Build Community Connections
Participate in community meetings, case conferencing, and workgroups to strengthen housing partnerships and program coordination.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support participant success.
Contribute to Program Operations
Assist with special projects, reporting, and operational needs as assigned.
Support overall program effectiveness through consistent communication and teamwork.
What You Bring to the Table Required:
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience working with databases or data systems (HMIS experience preferred).
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
Experience working in housing programs, homeless services, or case management.
Familiarity with HUD, CoC standards, and coordinated entry processes.

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
