About the Position
Pond is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV to join our Energy Mechanical team in Atlanta, GA. While this role will primarily support DoD and commercial aviation fueling projects, our team also delivers work across a variety of markets, including oil & gas, power delivery, renewables, and utilities.
In this role, you will play a key technical role—leading design efforts, guiding junior engineers, and serving as a subject-matter resource on complex mechanical and fueling systems. This position is ideal for engineers who are ready to take on increased responsibility in project execution, coordination, and technical leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in consulting or design for fueling, energy, or industrial projects
Demonstrated ability to lead mechanical design packages, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions
EIT required; PE strongly preferred (or ability to obtain in the near term)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging clients and stakeholders
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Additional Skills (Preferred)
Extensive experience with fueling system design for DoD facilities, military airfields, or commercial aviation terminals
Strong background in piping systems, storage tanks, hydrant fueling, and related mechanical infrastructure
Experience performing or overseeing hydraulic analysis, system simulation, stress analysis, and equipment sizing
Ability to interpret and develop technical specifications, lead QA/QC reviews, and mentor junior staff
