Key Responsibilities

Plant Engineering Support

Serve as the on-site engineering resource for the Aberdeen plant, addressing daily production and technical questions.

Troubleshoot and resolve product, process, and equipment issues impacting production.

Partner with production leadership, technicians, and operators to support continuous improvement and drive root cause resolution.

Lead quality investigations and collaborate with the quality team to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for production equipment to ensure uptime, safety, and quality targets are met.

Support production builds and ensure processes are followed to meet customer and operational requirements.

Employ statistical analysis tools and capability studies to monitor manufacturing process stability and performance, uncover trends, anomalies, and inefficiencies to drive engineering resolutions.

Act autonomously and proactively, making independent engineering decisions and driving process improvements with minimal oversight to resolve production issues.

Identify and communicate performance and production issues while collaborating effectively with remote product experts.

Expected to work Monday-Thursday 10 hour shifts supporting across first and second shift.

Process Development and Improvement

Interpret production metrics and assess process performance to increase quality, yield, and efficiency in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.

Analyze existing production lines, find bottlenecks, and design better workflows and methods.

Conduct time studies to established accurate labor standards.

Develop and maintain accurate plant-specific assembly documentation, work instructions, and process standards.

Lead initiatives to improve safety, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Work

Act as the liaison between the Aberdeen plant and engineering leadership in Brooklyn Park.

Provide feedback to design and engineering teams regarding product manufacturability and plant-specific challenges.

Support product transfers and ensure new processes or design changes are effectively implemented in Aberdeen.

Work closely with quality and technical staff to address customer concerns related to products manufactured in Aberdeen.

Collaborate and communicate with plant manager to ensure that production issues are resolved and KPI's are met.

Ensure cross-functional accountability by tracking action items, reviewing progress, and escalating issues when necessary to uphold production integrity.

Required

BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

0–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or plant engineering roles.

Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic plant environment.

Experience supporting production and resolving quality or process issues on the shop floor.

Proficiency in PTC ProE, Creo or similar solid modeling tools.

Applied understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, and fabrication.

Familiarity with 3D printing.

Demonstrates ability to adapt and quickly resolve process issues to maintain throughput and uphold production targets.

Demonstrates strong multitasking capability to balance multiple concurrent projects/issues—prioritizing effectively, coordinating across teams, and maintaining production demands.

Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with operators, technicians, engineers, and leadership to implement process improvements and resolve manufacturing issues.

Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Willing to travel occasionally to our headquarters in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Preferred

Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as FMEA, 5‑Why, and fishbone diagrams.

Familiarity with MES/ERP systems.

Exposure to quality systems and customer complaint resolution.

Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and basic automation.

Previous experience in manufacturing environments.

Physical Demands

Sit for up to 10 hours per day.

Exposed to a computer screen for up to 10 hours per day.

Utilize a computer mouse, keyboard, computer, and other standard office equipment.

Required to talk or hear frequently.

Work Environment Characteristics

Manufacturing floor environment.

Exposure to various manufacturing, warehousing, or related industrial location.

Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
