Job Summary
The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring pool activity, enforcing safety rules, and providing a safe environment for all guests. This position requires maintaining alertness at all times, performing rescues when necessary, and delivering excellent guest service in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.
How You Will Create the Extraordinary
Provide courteous, professional, and friendly service to all guests
Initiate and engage in positive guest interactions while maintaining safety awareness
Guard the pool from designated lifeguard stands to ensure guest safety at all times
Maintain an upright, attentive, and alert posture while on duty
Follow all safety, health, and operational standards consistently
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations in accordance with American Red Cross guidelines
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment
What You Will Need
Must be at least 16 years of age
Lifeguard certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid trainingAll certifications must be completed prior to employment
Strong customer service skills with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent guest interaction
Ability to tolerate a close‑knit work environment with constant co‑worker engagement
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, push, pull, and perform other physical tasks
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the pool area for the duration of the shift
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and outdoor conditions
Ability to assess situations quickly and perform rescue skills using sidestroke, crawl, or breaststroke
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Additional Requirements
Must be able to lift 50‑75 lbs. and move lounge chairs, towel carts, and other equipment as needed
Must be able to swim 500 meters nonstop using approved strokes
Must maintain physical stamina and a calm, focused mental attitude to perform under pressure
Must be able to respond to visual and verbal cues
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Finalist candidates must complete a drug test and background check prior to receiving an offer
