Depending on the size of the company you work for, a Dispatching person can either be a combination of roles as Customer Service, Technical Support, and Dispatching, and maybe Materials Management, or a person who simply manages the interactions between the needs of clients and technicians. A Dispatcher is the person who closely tracks projects as they progress through construction and interacts with internal operational departments and clients and drives schedules to ensure that everything we need and do is done in a timely and efficient manner. We complete a wide range of specific tasks to ensure that all aspects of the client’s project are going smoothly. You interact with internal sales people, other operations staff, and material management. A Dispatcher is the person who does the scheduling between technicians and the client on the jobs they manage. Additionally, you are the person who interacts with the client, their general contractor and associated trades that have systems which will interact with ours. And of course, you do documentation and billing of our work. Education Requirements

You must have at least a GED or a high school diploma to be considered. It is a plus if you have some advanced education in the areas of Project Management, Business, or Accounting. Being a quick and constant learner is a must for this position. Skills

You should have a good foundational knowledge of Customer Service and Project Management, and a basic understanding of how the construction process works. You also need strong written and verbal communication skills, as you will need to interact with team members, clients, and management. As you progress, it is vital to have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Salary Expectation

The average annual compensation in Oregon and SW Washington is $41,600. Working for a company in Oregon with project‑ready clients will allow you to earn $18 to $24 per hour, depending on experience and certifications held. Career Progression
