About the Position First‑level vocational position responsible for following set rules and procedures to routinely gather information to make eligibility determinations and deliver direct services applicable to one of multiple eligibility areas and programs (e.g. food stamps, cash, medical assistance, workforce services, veteran’s loan eligibility, etc.). Employees apply guidelines to calculate benefits and, if determined eligible, issue one‑time or ongoing assistance. Employees may also refer applicants to other agencies or public programs or community resources. Employees perform work under general supervision and may be required to perform case management work.

Responsibilities

Follow established rules and procedures to gather and process eligibility information.

Make eligibility determinations for various assistance programs.

Calculate benefits and issue assistance where applicable.

Refer applicants to other services or community resources.

Perform case management tasks under supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or high school equivalency.

0‑2 years of experience in a related field.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Willingness to serve others and work with diverse populations.
