Job Overview Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking an

Experienced Utility Person for Plant Maintenance/Heavy Equipment Operation 2nd Shift

for Lacey’s Spring Quarry, Lacey’s Spring, Alabama. The successful candidate will lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our operations and support growth.

Wages start at $25.00/hr, starting wage may be higher based on experience.

Fulltime/Permanent

2nd Shift (Starts at 4:00pm, 10–12hr shifts)

$3.00 Shift Premium for night shift work

Weekend work may be required

Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits

Job Responsibilities

Plant repair; maintain crushers, conveyors, and screens.

Diagnose mechanical issues with quarry equipment, including hydraulic failures, electrical malfunctions, and engine problems.

Fabricate parts / weld broken parts needed for repair of the plant.

Perform servicing and general maintenance for all areas of the plant.

Regularly inspect all quarry equipment for signs of wear, damage, or potential failure, including belts, bearings, hydraulic lines, and electrical components.

Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Operate excavator, skid steer, loader, and a variety of heavy equipment as needed.

Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.

Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.

Qualifications

Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

1–2 years of experience as an excavator or loader operator required.

Previous quarry experience required.

Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed.

Previous fixed plant maintenance or related industry experience is required.

Experience in fabricating, cutting, and welding is required.

Able to do safety and maintenance inspections throughout the day.

Capable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledge.

Experience working with crushers, conveyors and screens preferred.

Ability to understand basic safety and work instruction.

Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.

Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills.

Welding experience helpful along with general maintenance and repair abilities.

Experience in heavy equipment operation a plus but not required.

Team player mentality.

Working outdoors in varied weather conditions with the probability of dust, noise, heat, and cold.

Must pass pre‑employment drug testing.
