Overview
NSB Omega is searching for a Terminal Rail Unloader/Support for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Dartmouth, NS. The position provides bulk fuel terminal operations and maintenance support with a primary focus on safe and efficient rail transload operations. The employee must comply with all plant safety rules/PPE requirements and work with terminal leadership towards achieving goals/objectives. Responsibilities
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the proper transload of products. Perform plant and equipment inspections and tests including completing daily inspection and compliance tasks. Ensure railcars are properly equipped for the loading/unloading of customers' commodities, including transportation of dangerous goods. Communicate with the switching crews and operations for the safe and efficient transfer of the customers product. Perform various maintenance tasks assigned during times when transloading operations are not necessary. Perform various operations tasks to support terminal product movement. Qualifications
Ability to read and write general documentation including safety briefings, policy and procedure manuals. Physically fit including the ability to pull self up and down from a railcar on a continuous basis, able to lift and twist air hoses, able to secure rail car brakes, derails, and switches. Knowledge with technology and computer systems with a willingness to use Excel and Outlook daily. Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to maintain clear drug & alcohol clearance throughout their employment. Be willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
