Lab Services Assistant – Procurement Technician – JLL What this job involves: Join JLL’s Laboratory Services team as a Procurement Technician supporting cutting‑edge pharmaceutical R&D operations. In this essential role, you’ll be the vital link between research teams and their supply chain, ensuring uninterrupted access to critical materials that fuel scientific breakthroughs. You’ll leverage advanced procurement systems and build strategic vendor relationships while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact life‑changing research while developing expertise in specialized laboratory procurement within JLL’s industry‑leading facilities management platform.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:

Utilize client and JLL procurement systems (Ariba, E‑1) to process and fulfill orders for research materials including chemicals, reagents, solvents, and biological products.

Manage inventory levels and coordinate with vendors to ensure continuous supply of critical materials, gases, and laboratory consumables according to site requirements.

Communicate with research teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate order fulfillment, shipments, and resolve any supply chain issues.

Maintain accurate stockroom inventories and monitor thresholds established by customer stockroom managers to prevent shortages.

Process internal and external chemical requests, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and documentation requirements.

Coordinate inter‑site and intra‑site material shipments while maintaining detailed records and metrics for management reporting.

Support overall Laboratory Services operations through cross‑training opportunities and additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or technical field, or equivalent work experience in procurement/purchasing.

Experience working in regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, medical device, or Life Sciences industries.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn specialized procurement software systems.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.

Knowledge of safety standards and ability to comply with all site, department, and job function requirements.

Demonstrated ability to work independently under general supervision while maintaining attention to detail.

Team‑oriented mindset with commitment to high‑performance, quality‑driven work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with Ariba, RIO, or similar enterprise procurement software platforms.

Background in ordering and purchasing goods and services, particularly in laboratory or research settings.

Understanding of chemical handling, storage, and shipping requirements for laboratory materials.

Experience with inventory management systems and supply chain coordination.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Familiarity with vendor management and supplier relationship development.

Previous experience in facilities management or laboratory support services.

Location: Princeton, NJ – Onsite

Work Shift: Monday to Friday

Salary/Compensation: $21.44 to $26.25 hourly

Estimated compensation for this position: $44,600.00 – $54,600.00 USD per year.
