Silo Operator

to join our team at our Carrington, ND location. The Silo Operator is an important role for our Pasta-making organization. As a Silo Operator, you monitor product quality, and by using knowledge of systems (silo, accumulators) to maximize efficiencies of storage and conveying systems. Duties and Responsibilities

OperateSmalley andGough Econline control systemsto direct product from press to the correct silo/accumulator;and from the correct storage to the packaging machine. Communicate storage system status to Press Operators

Use Quality standards, SOPs, and product specification information to constantlymonitorquality of all inbound and outbound product. Report problems to the Packaging Supervisors, Lab Technicians, and Press Operatorsin a timely mannerto prevent waste

Track and log all current information on the Silo/Accumulator boards

Assistsmachine operators with short goods conveyer system and long goods conveyor system set-upin a timely manner

Maintains expected levels of sanitation in, and around, all areas of storage and conveying

Closelymonitorssilo/tier changes to avoid any mixed product, and ensure oversight of products results in control of allergens

Directs all regrind varieties to proper storage systems in the mill

Set stripper systems up to correctly cut product to customer specifications.Assistwith preventive maintenance of allstripper,storage, andconveying systems in the department by serving as a technical expert tomaintenance onoperation systems.

Education and Experience Required

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalentfrom an accredited institution

Must havepreviousexperienceoperatinga computer

Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed

Education, Experience and Skills Preferred

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Abilityto deal with multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Must be willing toattainforklift operator certification

Physical Requirements

Must be able to balance, stand, walk, and work in high heat/humidity for 8+ hours per shift

Must be able to bend, crouch, reach above shoulders, and work in a dusty environment for 6+ hours per shift

Must be able to tokneel, sit,and stoopfor 3+ hours per shift

Must be able toclimb and workoff a ladder for 3+ hours per shift

Must be able to work in a confined space for 3+ hours per shift

Must be able to do simple grasping and pushing/pulling for 3+ hours per shift

Must be able to perform fine manipulation with hands, and feel with hands, for 6+ hours per shift

Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds for 8 hours per shift

Must be able tolift up-to50+ pounds for 6hours per shift

Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, distinguish objects and equipment visually, and express or exchange ideas by spoken or written word
