Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safe loading, delivery and unloading of cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.

Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.

Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA and OSHA.

Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Qualifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.

Valid Medical Examiner's Card.

Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.

Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record with no more than two (2) convictions, or two (2) at‑fault accidents in the last three years, or no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last three years.

In lieu of experience, may be considered accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.

Must be at least 21 years or older.

Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.

Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 lbs. with aid of material handling equipment.

Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.

Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
