Pipe Movers, Inc Material Handler/Driver (Goose‑Neck Non‑CDL) – Job Description Report to: Branch Manager

Pay cycle: Weekly

Job Summary PMI Pipe, Steel & Supplies Material Handlers/Driver will participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Material Handlers/Driver responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing, and loading orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The driver is responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using tractor‑trailer trucks. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)

Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)

Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.

Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization, including will call area.

Complete logs for inventory, vehicles, or deliveries as required.

Report any discrepancies.

Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.

Operate and maintain preventatively warehouse vehicles and equipment.

Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Respond promptly to radio requests.

Transporting inventory over land to and from branch locations to customer locations.

Inspect vehicle and associated equipment for mechanical items and safety issues before and after each trip, perform preventative maintenance (pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections), and report all mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel using the appropriate forms.

Maintain radio or telephone contact with the supervisor to receive instructions.

Keep the vehicle and associated equipment clean and in good working order.

Loading and unloading inventory as required.

Adhere to planned routes and meet delivery schedules. Keep records of all paperwork received and return to the supervisor at the end of the shift for proper processing.

Obtain customer signature or collect payment for goods delivered if requested.

Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) and company policies and procedures.

Position blocks and tie ropes around items to secure cargo for transport.

Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.

Collect and verify delivery instructions.

Fill up on fuel, clean the truck, and wash windows.

Report to the supervisor any incidents encountered on the road.

Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion. Follow all applicable traffic laws.

Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.

Document and log work/rest periods and time spent driving according to state and federal PMI daily log record regulations and retain fuel/toll receipts.

Be responsible for keeping all required certifications and licensing current, promptly completing re‑certifications and licensing updates.

Communicate with customers on delivery times (on‑time, delay, etc.)

Operate and preventively maintain warehouse/yard vehicles and equipment.

Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Turn in all paperwork received each day at the end of the shift to the supervisor.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be 25 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use.

Proven work experience as a delivery driver.

Proven working experience as a warehouse worker.

Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 80 pounds.

Ability to squat, twist, reach, and stand/walk for an entire workday.

Ability to work in Texas weather, i.e., heat, cold, dust, and rain.

Proven working experience as a yard/warehouse worker.

Able to operate forklifts, utility vehicles, overhead cranes, and small power tools.

Dress and perform job duties professionally; company uniform required.

Follow company procedures and employee manual.

Ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate, read, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and training.

Able to read tape measure/caliper.

Must be proficient in simple math; add, subtract, multiply, and divide – weights, length, size, etc.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Ability to multi‑task.

High school degree.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Spanish as a second language is a plus.
