Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Obstetrician-Gynecologist provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to women across the lifespan. This role includes obstetric care, gynecologic care, preventive health services, and surgical management of reproductive health conditions, with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum follow-up
Diagnose and manage high-risk and low-risk pregnancies, as applicable
Provide gynecologic care including well-woman exams, contraception counseling, and management of menstrual and menopausal disorders
Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and abnormal uterine bleeding
Perform gynecologic and obstetric surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges, including minimally invasive techniques
Perform cervical cancer screening, colposcopy, and other office-based procedures
Collaborate with maternal-fetal medicine, primary care, pediatrics, surgery, and other specialists
Educate patients regarding reproductive health, pregnancy, and preventive care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcomes initiatives
Supervise and collaborate with residents, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff as applicable
Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program
Board-eligible or board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
DEA registration or eligibility

Broad expertise in obstetric and gynecologic care
Strong clinical judgment and surgical skills
Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
Ability to manage both routine and complex women’s health conditions
Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care
Work Environment
Outpatient clinics, hospital labor and delivery units, operating rooms, and inpatient wards
Call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as determined by practice needs
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures and deliveries
Manual dexterity for surgical and office-based procedures
Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient care and operative environments
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
