Overview AtkinsRéalis is looking for a motivated senior project engineer within the Orlando, Florida area to build and manage high‑performing CEI teams, ensuring project excellence, and expanding our portfolio in Central Florida. Successful CEI experience with FDOT and CFX projects is required.
Your role
Lead and manage complex CEI projects, ensuring full compliance with FDOT standards and specifications.
Build, mentor, and oversee multidisciplinary CEI teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
Direct specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs.
Develop and implement QA/QC procedures, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
Serve as the primary liaison with FDOT representatives, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve project challenges and ensure client satisfaction.
Pursue new CEI opportunities with FDOT, including proposal development, marketing, and strategic business development.
Review and approve project documentation, including inspection reports, change orders, and final estimates.
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida is required.
Minimum 15 years of post‑licensure engineering experience, with at least 10 years in transportation‑related CEI projects.
Proven experience managing FDOT projects and familiarity with FDOT policies, procedures, and specifications.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to lead diverse teams.
Certifications
FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT).
CTQP Quality Control Manager.
Preferred Skills
Expertise in roadway and bridge construction methods including drainage, piling, retaining walls, paving, concrete/asphalt, and lighting/signage.
Experience developing and managing a CEI group.
Ability to evaluate project claims and delays and coordinate timely resolutions.
