Lead Audio Visual Technician
A growing technology integration firm is seeking an experienced Lead Audio Visual Technician to oversee on-site installation teams for commercial AV projects. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
The Lead Technician will coordinate closely with project management, construction partners, subcontractors, and end users to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise AV installation crews on commercial and enterprise projects Interpret and execute electronic CAD drawings, schematics, and construction documents Maintain high standards of craftsmanship in cabling, terminations, equipment mounting, and rack builds Coordinate daily activities with project managers and other trades on‑site Motivate, manage, and support technicians and subcontractors Test, troubleshoot, and commission AV systems to verify performance and functionality Maintain clear and professional communication with all stakeholders Requirements
Self‑directed with the ability to work independently and lead teams with minimal supervision 5+ years of professional audio visual installation experience Strong understanding of industry installation best practices Proficiency reading electronic CAD designs and building blueprints Experience testing and validating completed AV systems Preferred Qualifications
Videoconferencing system installation and configuration experience Industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS or CTS‑I OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification $30 - $36 an hour
