Job Summary As a Maintenance Mechanic 2 at Behr, you will play a critical role in keeping our equipment and processes running safely and efficiently. You'll leverage your strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical expertise to diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Using a variety of tools including soldering equipment, drills, measuring devices, and hand tools you will perform both reactive repairs and proactive preventative maintenance.
You will work on a range of equipment, including conveyors, liquid filling systems (pumps and valves), and packaging machines such as balers and tapers. You will also be responsible for documenting your work accurately, following safety protocols (including wearing a respirator in designated areas), and ensuring all equipment meets performance standards.
Main Responsibilities of the Role
Develop a strong understanding of equipment processes, effectively diagnose issues, and apply practical solutions to keep operations running smoothly.>
Gain experience in milling and filling departments while mastering fabrication techniques using shop equipment like shears, brakes, and cutting tools.
Confidently troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits and VFDs, making adjustments to optimize performance.
Keep detailed records of completed tasks, ensuring all work is performed accurately and on schedule.
Contribute to a positive, safe, and organized environment by promoting high craftsmanship standards and actively supporting team efforts.
Requirements of the Role
Proficient in electrical systems, general mechanical repairs, and welding/fabrication processes.
Skilled in SAP transactions, MS Office, and general PC operations.
Capable of reading and understanding repair instructions for manufacturing equipment and operating shop tools (grinders, band saws, drill presses).
Ability to operate a forklift safely (certification is not a requirement).
A complete high school education whether it be a High School Diploma or GED.
