What You Will Do

Manages staffing and patient flow

Provides leadership in the delivery of direct patient care including patient assessment, medication management, patient and family education, and community resource referral

Responsible for department process improvement

Responsible for staff orientation, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation

Involved in providing input in budget process to support fiscal responsibility and facility operations

Involved in coaching, mentoring and staff development

Responsible for maintaining the environment of care and attending to the needs of the clinical staff through visibility/presence in the department and assisting in the completion of patient care activities

Serves as the lead for disaster management in the absence of leadership management

Ability to deliver service recovery to patients and family members to ensure a positive experience

Insuring provision of care, safety and regulatory standards

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

Other Accredited Program: (Required) and

(ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required) and

(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Work Experience

2+ years clinical nursing experience to include an outpatient clinic or emergency department. (Required) and

EMR experience. (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Uses a wide varity of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies. (Required proficiency)

Demonstrates ability to facilitate change. (Required proficiency)

Demonstates ability to delegate and supervisor staff. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and

Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Required)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on clinical area standards.

Specialty Certification (Required within 2 Years)
