Additional Information About the Role BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Registered Sonographer (Ultrasound) for Christian Hospital and Northwest Healthcare (1225 Graham Rd Florissant, MO 63031) & Christian Hospital (11133 Dunn Rd St. Louis, MO 63136).

Location is near: Alton, IL / Godfrey, IL / Edwardsville, IL / Collinsville, IL / Granite City, IL / Bridgeton, MO / Saint Ann, MO / Roxana, IL / Wood River, IL / Spanish Lake, MO / Bethalto, IL / Florissant, MO / Black Jack.

Position Details

General Ultrasound

( Abdomen, Small Parts, Thyroid, Breast, OB/Gyn )

Day Shift

Varying shifts between Mon-Fri: 7am — 3:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, or 8:30am-5pm

Paid

Saturday Rotation (6:30am-3pm)

Paid on Call

Call hours are rotated between all team members with paid on-call compensation — even if you are not called in!

Call Hours:

M-Th 1730-2030, Sat 1500-1830, Sun 0700-1830

Overnight Shift (as needed)

Requirements

Associate degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)

Experience

Previous experience in general ultrasound with breast ultrasound experience (preferred, but it is not required)

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

The Ultrasound Department provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Routine ultrasound services include obstetrical, gynecological, abdominal, small parts, color flow, and spectral Doppler diagnostic examinations. Services are offered in the department as well as at bedside to patients in the ICU and the PCU.

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging.

Responsibilities

Ensures proper function and readiness of all equipment.

Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.

Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
