Location: Newport News, VA
Salary: $34,362.00–$50,000.00
Job Summary The selected individual will be required to repair and perform preventative maintenance on high voltage systems above 600 volts. Other duties include troubleshooting/repairing electrical circuits, calibrating equipment, interpreting schematics in a complex industrial setting, and performing preventive maintenance on Emergency Diesel Generators and associated control circuits. The role may also require crane electrical maintenance. The candidate should have completed basic electrical theory classes or possess a journeyman electrician’s license, a good driving record, and be willing to become a qualified equipment operator (JLG, forklift, scissor‑lift, etc.). Safety and quality‑workmanship are top priorities and knowledge of the National Electric Code is required.
Key Responsibilities
Repair and preventative maintenance on high voltage systems (> 600 V).
Troubleshoot/repair electrical circuits and calibrate equipment.
Interpret schematics in an industrial setting.
Maintain Emergency Diesel Generators and control circuits.
Rebuild equipment, install electronic controls, and perform lighting maintenance.
Conduct preventive maintenance on crane electrical systems.
Operate equipment such as JLG, forklift, and scissor‑lifts.
Requirements
Minimum 40 lb lifting capability and ability to perform manual labor outdoors.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
Understand oral and written instructions.
Available to work assigned shift per production needs.
US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Trade school graduate; on‑the‑job training is acceptable.
High school graduate or equivalent.
