Position Summary $19 to $20 per hour DOE

WinStar World Hotel is seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable

Accounting Assistant – General Cashier

to join our Accounting team. This role supports daily accounting operations, cash handling, and month‑end reporting while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, and thrives in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide friendly, professional service to guests and internal team members

Assist with month‑end and year‑end accounting processes and reporting

Pull daily drop envelopes, verify cash and report contents, and balance daily deposits

Prepare and deliver daily bank deposits for armored car transport

Assist with cash and credit card functions, including:

Making change for cashiers

Counting and balancing hotel cash banks

Researching and responding to credit card chargebacks

Prepare and submit bank change orders

Cross‑train in Daily Financial Coordinator and Accounts Payable functions and provide backup support as needed

Ensure all accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls are followed

Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and guest information

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Meet required deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail

Support hotel training initiatives and consistently practice WinStar World Hotel culture

Recognize and promptly respond to potential safety or security concerns

Obtain and maintain a vendor gaming license, as required, to transport deposits as backup with security escort

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of

2 years of accounting experience

or related field experience

Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to multitask

Excellent clerical skills, including typing, filing, and computer proficiency

Proficiency in

Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Experience with accounting systems such as

Timberscan and Timberline

preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work professionally with all levels of the organization and external contacts

High level of integrity and confidentiality

Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed

Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods and lift/move up to 25 pounds

Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Ability to operate effectively in mentally and physically stressful situations

Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues in a dynamic environment
