Experienced Referral Coordinator
A busy medical office in Conroe, Texas is seeking an EXPERIENCED family practice Referral Coordinator to support providers and medical assistants with obtaining patient referrals and prior authorizations. This is a full-time role.
Main Responsibilities
Work closely with providers, medical assistants, and patients to organize referrals.
Handle prior authorization requests by collaborating with staff and patients.
Accurately enter information into electronic patient medical records.
Schedule appointments for both our clinics and the facilities or offices to which patients are referred.
Follow up with patients via phone calls.
Contact other physicians’ offices and facilities to confirm details.
Complete various administrative tasks in the office.
Help out at the front desk when required.
Input and update clinic and patient records using computer systems.
Scan and attach documents to patients’ electronic medical records.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Current CPR certification at the healthcare professional level
Experience handling referrals and prior authorizations across different insurance providers
Proficient with internet software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications
Familiarity with electronic medical records, preferably Epic
Able to work effectively in a team environment
Must demonstrate a polite, friendly, and professional attitude
Detail-oriented and precise in work
Track record of dependability in previous roles
Previous experience in Family Medical Practice is preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are desirable
Knowledge of insurance plans is also considered an asset
