Jump into an exciting front-line role supporting the amazing people who love and nurture Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. As the Development and Membership Coordinator, you'll keep donor and member info flowing smoothly behind the scenes, helping the Garden grow its impact and spread beauty in the community.
Role Overview The Development and Membership Coordinator oversees the Garden’s donor and membership records, ensuring each gift and membership is appreciated. Your responsibilities include data entry, sending acknowledgements, generating reports, and managing membership communications. You will collaborate with the Membership, Marketing, and Annual Fund teams, reporting to the External Relations Director. This is a full-time, non-exempt role based at the Garden in Oakdale, PA.
What You’ll Do
Manage donor and member records in the Altru database, keeping information accurate and up to date.
Enter new constituents, update addresses and contact details, and help segment lists for direct mail and other campaigns.
Process and acknowledge donations and pledges promptly so supporters receive timely, professional thanks.
Assist with electronic membership cards and weekly communications with members, helping them feel informed and appreciated.
Support marketing efforts by updating the online program calendar and contributing to weekly e-newsletters.
Run reports and queries as requested by the Membership Manager, Marketing Manager, and Annual Fund Manager to support ongoing fundraising and engagement efforts.
Requirements What You’ll Bring
Strong understanding of database systems; experience with Altru or other Blackbaud products is preferred.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, especially for organizing information and creating basic documents or spreadsheets.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and a friendly, helpful manner with colleagues and stakeholders.
Willingness to complete required background security checks.
Work Style and Environment
Primarily office-based work with occasional outdoor time at Garden events.
Typically, a 40-hour workweek, with some flexibility needed for Garden-related functions.
