Summary Reporting to the Assistant HRIS Manager, the HRIS Assistant supports the HRIS function in day‑to‑day operations and plays a key role in ensuring accurate processing of employee data, auditing system transactions, and completing assigned workflow tasks. The role maintains strong data integrity within the HR system and ensures that employee and job information is processed correctly to support payroll processing.

Essential Functions

Prepares, maintains, and processes employee data within the University’s HR system with a high level of accuracy, including biodemographic information, employment and job assignment details, salary adjustments and retroactive calculations, and electronic access requests.

Conducts routine audits of HRIS and payroll‑impacting transactions to verify accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and confirm compliance with ACA regulations and University policies.

Collaborates with HR and Payroll to research and resolve transactional issues, escalates items when necessary, and supports initiatives that improve HR‑payroll processing and overall data accuracy.

Provides first‑line support for HRIS system inquiries, troubleshoots basic user issues, and assists in maintaining system configurations and updates.

Assists in developing and updating HRIS‑related documentation and user guides, and provides basic training to HR and other departmental staff on system usage.

Additional Functions

Serves as backup support for other HRIS responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree; minimum of one (1) year of experience in an HR or administrative role with a strong emphasis on data entry and record keeping.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis); strong computer literacy and ability to quickly learn new software and systems; exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with sensitive employee data; strong organizational and time‑management skills; excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality; strong problem‑solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; basic understanding of fundamental HR processes and policies; commitment to best‑in‑class customer service; positive, team‑oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Ellucian Banner HR or other similar HCM systems; experience with Microsoft PowerBI reporting or similar software.

Salary Minimum Starting Salary: $58,000 Maximum Starting Salary: $65,000 Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
