Job Description As a Traveling Field IT Technician, you will encounter a variety of technical issues, enabling creative problem solving in a fast‑paced environment. Specific duties include:
Travel 50% of the time, including overnight stays, to existing and new customer sites for onboardings.
Perform network documentation, toolset deployment, and network assessments.
Install or maintain firewalls, switches, access points, and phone systems.
Provide maintenance support for computer equipment, printers, and specialized KeyTrak equipment.
Maintain an inventory of repair parts and documentation via the service tracking system.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license, fewer than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, and no OVI/DUI/DWI violations in the last 5 years.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds consistently.
One‑year certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
Experience with ticketing systems, local exchange, and email/server migrations.
Strong knowledge of firewall configurations, Cisco, and networking.
Experience with imaging and VMware virtualization.
Knowledgeable in cabling and telco circuits.
Familiar with VoIP, VLANs, DNS, BSOD, and GPOs.
Direct experience with Microsoft 365, GSuite, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
Maximum 50% overnight travel to project sites.
Experience updating project and technical documentation.
Ability to attend a paid training class in Texas.
Excellent interpersonal skills, composure under pressure, attention to detail, and a deadline‑driven mindset. Capable of prioritizing tasks independently and collaborating effectively within a team.
