The Orange County NY Arts Council (OCNYAC) is dedicated to advancing and supporting the arts across Orange County, NY through advocacy, programming, grants, and community engagement. We serve artists, arts organizations, educators, and residents by strengthening the region’s creative ecosystem.

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant will support day-to-day operations including scheduling, communications, data management, and organizational systems.

The Orange County NY Arts Council is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Administrative Assistant to provide essential administrative and organizational support. This role is critical to strengthening internal operations and allowing leadership and program staff to focus on mission-driven work.

Hours : 24 hours per week (with some evenings and weekends required as needed)

Compensation : Hourly rate range: $22–$28 per hour

(Final compensation will be assessed and set based on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

Provide general administrative support to leadership/staff

Manage calendars, scheduling, and meeting coordination

Support internal and external communications (email, correspondence, follow-ups)

Maintain and organize digital files, databases, and records

Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation

Support event logistics and preparation as needed

Help implement and maintain efficient administrative systems and workflows

Provide support for social media content creation and posting, including drafting basic content, scheduling posts, and assisting with platform management (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) in coordination with leadership

Qualifications

Prior administrative experience, preferably in a nonprofit or arts-related organization

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with common office software and digital tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.)

Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines

Interest in the arts and community-based work a plus
