The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of raw plastic materials within a warehouse environment. This role requires certified forklift operation, strict adherence to safety protocols, and attention to detail to ensure materials are handled properly and the facility remains safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and stack large plastic material totes
Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments from trucks and containers
Inspect totes and materials for damage, leaks, or safety concerns and report issues immediately
Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures
Maintain proper storage locations and stacking configurations to prevent damage or accidents
Perform routine forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety issues
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
Accurately complete required paperwork, logs, or electronic records related to inventory movement
Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as needed
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding workflow and safety
PPE and Safety
Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Follow lockout/tagout, spill response, and material-handling procedures
Immediately report near misses, unsafe conditions, or incidents
Qualifications
Valid forklift certification
Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial environment
Experience handling large totes, bulk materials, or plastic/resin materials preferred
Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
