The

Sr. Mobile Repair Technician

position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team‑minded individual who doesn’t stray away from a challenge.

What You'll Do:

Conduct railcar inspections to ensure cars are in compliance

Perform repairs as necessary while always using current repair procedures

Meet the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience

Ensure all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information is accurate and complete

Actively participate in safety assessments and equipment inspections

May be required to mentor/train lower‑level technicians.

Follow all safety rules and practices

May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

Understand and complete all basic required on‑board training in regard to safety and quality

Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing or proficiency in two or more of the following disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, BLTII, PTII, VTII, Qualified Coating Applicator, Qualified Coating Inspector, Qualified Abrasive Blaster or other qualifications as applicable.

Candidates must be willing to travel and work in required locations.

Experience/Knowledgeable with the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange rules

Ability to learn how to perform general inspections on railcars

Ability to learn how to perform a final inspection of completed work

Advanced skills in reading engineered drawings

Ability to learn how to create and complete BRC

Ability to learn all major railcar components and basic functions

Ability to work within confined spaces and from elevated heights as required to perform work.

Ability to perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits.

Ability to perform work outlined without direct supervision

Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and others as required.

Ability to pass any required NDT disciplines and function‑specific certifications, which may include tank car welding, and demonstrates strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations

Any type of Welding/Valve/Mechanical experience or railcar knowledge is preferred

Valid Driver’s License, good driving record
